East St. John High School Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program receives $5,000 Grant from McDonald’s USA

Metairie, LA - On Friday, July 11, 2014, McDonald’s Corporation once again demonstrated their Brand mission of being a Good Neighbor; this time, by reaffirming their commitment to the Jobs for America’s Graduates Program (JAG). Through continued partnership with the administration of East St. John School, McDonald’s staff presented JAG Career Specialist, Mrs. Glenda Gaines, with a $5,000 contribution towards the ESJHS JAG chapter.  Combined with the generosity of McDonald’s Great Southern Region’s Owner/Operator organizations, McDonald’s hopes to elevate the success of both the local JAG program as well participants during the 2014/2015 JAG school year. Local McDonald’s Owner/Operator, and ESJHS alumni, Chris Bardell, and his wife, Lentreise, joined Aimee Lopinto and Chris Pierson in presenting the donation to Mrs. Gaines.
 
Under the direction of Mrs. Gaines, the East St. John High School JAG program successfully enrolled 28 students this semester and is in its fifth year. JAG is a state-based national non- profit organization dedicated to preventing drop-outs among young people who are most at- risk.  With more than three decades of operation, JAG has delivered consistent and compelling results – helping nearly three-quarters of a million young people stay in school through graduation, pursue post-secondary education and secure quality entry-level jobs leading to career advancement opportunities.
