o establish state organizations committed to implementing the JAG Model for both in-school and out-of-school young people.

JAG Model Programs deliver a unique set of services to targeted youth in high school, including 12 months of post-graduation follow-up services, that will result in the graduate pursuing a postsecondary education and/or entering the workforce in a quality job leading to a career.

Targeted youth include those young people that are screened by an Advisory Committee consisting of administrators, counselors, academic educators, and career and technical educators. Due to budgetary constraints, a JAG Model Program is unable to serve all young people. Targeted youth are those most at-risk of leaving high school before graduating, failing to complete requirements for a high school diploma, or unable to experience a smooth transition from school to a career (with or without a postsecondary education).
