JAG-Bay State (Massachusetts) State Organization

JAG-Bay State (Massachusetts) programs operate in the following schools:

  • Burncoat Senior High School
  • Classical High School
  • Doherty Memorial High School

  • Falmouth High School
  • Haverhill High School
  • Haverhill High School (Freshman)
  • Holyoke High School
  • Holyoke High School (CAP)
  • Holyoke High School (Freshman)
  • Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School
  • North High School
  • North Middlesex Regional High School
  • Shrewsbury High School
  • South High Community School
  • Westborough High School

Sixteen (16) programs are responsible for implementing a JAG Model program.
• Operates 11 Senior School-to-Career Transition Programs
• Operates 5 Multi-Year Multi-Year Programs

Participants Receiving JAG-Bay State (Massachusetts) Services

JAG-Bay State (Massachusetts) serves a total of 1388 students during the 2008-09 school year, including:

  • 1014 participants are served in the Senior School-to-Career Program
  • 374 participants in the Multi-Year Multi-Year Program

JAG-Bay State (Massachusetts) provides 12 months of follow-up services to 391 participants from the prior year.

A total of 1779 participants are receiving services in the 2008-09 year.

State Organization Awards and Recognition

JAG-Bay State (Massachusetts) received the following awards and recognition at the 2008 National Training Seminar:

"Top State Organization" awards:

  • percentage of students selected from bottom 25% of their class, (Class of 2008)
  • graduation rate above 90% (Class of 2007)
  • placement of students in high wage industries - Finance and Insurance (Class of 2007)

Job Specialist recognition:

  • Burncoat Senior High School, Worcester - "for overcoming barriers to providing student service, and for the ongoing development of crucial linkages between students and local business, school and community organizations."
  • Drury High School, North Adams - “for excellence in developing and implementing quality and innovative lesson plans to assist students in attaining JAG’s 37 core competencies.
  • Falmouth High School - “for the ongoing development of a quality employer network to place students in valuable internship experiences to further facilitate job placement in entry-level jobs for students upon graduation.”
  • Classical High School - "Outstanding Specialist of the Year"
  • English High School - "Outstanding Specialist of the Year"
