Teresa Orth, Vice President, Toys "Я" Us

Appointed Vice President, Human Resources for Toys “Я” Us, Inc. in 2007, Teresa Orth oversees all associate relations and talent acquisition for the company’s 1,200 corporate and more than 13,000 Babies “Я” Us employees. In this capacity, Ms. Orth plays a key role in leading many of the organization’s strategic human resources initiatives, including the college recruitment program and the talent assessment and succession planning process.

Upon joining Toys “Я” Us, Inc. in 1989, Ms. Orth managed human resources and benefits administration for the company’s regional Distribution Centers while simultaneously serving as Northeast Region Human Resources Manager and Recruiter for the Kids “Я” Us division. Subsequently, Ms. Orth has been promoted to increasing positions of seniority for Toys “Я” Us, Inc., including Director of Human Resources for Kids “Я” Us and Director of Human Resources for Babies “Я” Us. In 2005, she was named Director of Human Resources and Internal Communications. In this role, she oversaw all human resources functions for the company’s global headquarters before assuming her current position.

Prior to joining Toys “Я” Us, Inc., Ms. Orth was Manager of Recruitment and Executive Development for Abraham and Strauss, a division of Federated Department Stores. In addition, she served as Department Manager and was part of the executive training program.

Ms. Orth holds a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Fairfield University. She and her husband John currently reside in New Jersey. They have two sons, Geoffrey and Benjamin.
